This office serves the following counties: Citrus, Charlotte, Desoto, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota.

From the North:

Take Interstate 275 South.
Take exit 47 for US-92 S/US-41 S/Hillsborough Ave.
Take exit 47 for US-92 S/US-41 S/Hillsborough Ave.
Merge onto N Cherokee Ave.
Turn right onto US-92 W/E Hillsborough Ave.
Turn right onto Hoover Blvd.
The office is on the right. 

From the South:

Take Interstate 275 North.
Get off at Exit 47Bfor US-92 W/Hillsborough Ave W.
Merge onto US-92 W/E Hillsborough Ave continue to follow E Hillsborough Ave.
Turn right onto Hoover Blvd.
The office is on the right.

From the East:

Take Interstate  I-4 West.
Merge onto Interstate  I-275 North/Ocala.
Get off at Exit 47Bfor US-92 W/Hillsborough Ave W.
Merge onto US-92 W/E Hillsborough Ave continue to follow E Hillsborough Ave.
Turn right onto Hoover Blvd.
The office is on the right.

From the West: (St. Petersburg)

Take Interstate  I-275 North/Tampa.
Take exit 39 for Florida 60 W toward Florida 589 N/Clearwater/Tampa International Airport.
Merge onto FL-60 West.
Take Florida 589 Toll North (Partial toll road).
Take Exit 4 for State Route 580 to Hillsborough Ave.
Turn Right onto Hillsborough Ave.
Turn Left onto Hoover Blvd.
The Office is on the right.

From the West: (Clearwater)

Take I-60 East on Courtney Campbell Causeway.
Merge onto Veterans Expressway/Florida 589 toll North (Partial toll road)
Take Exit 4, State Route 580 to Hillsborough Ave.
Turn Right onto Hillsborough Ave.
Turn Left onto Hoover Blvd.
The Office is on the right.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

Take Bus 34 to the Hillsborough Avenue Stop.

The closest stop to the Tampa Office is 1238.

Filing Information

Follow the instructions on the form(s) that you are filing. If the instructions on the application tell you to file the form at a USCIS local office and you live within this service area, please mail your application or make an INFOPASS  appointment to submit your application in person.

Case Status and Referral Follow-ups

If you want to know the status of a case that is pending at this office, you should first call customer service at 1-800-375-5283. If your case is outside of our normal processing time, as shown on the uscis.gov web site, a customer service representative will ask USCIS to research your case, and we will send you a letter with further information.

If the customer service representative instructs you to visit our office, you must schedule an INFOPASS appointment, on our website, to visit this office in person.

Remember to bring the following items noted below, to the office for your appointment:

  • Any notices we have sent to you
  • A valid photo identity document, such as a driver license, passport, employment authorization document, etc.
  • A copy of the application or petition that you filed
  • Proof of paying the fee such as a copy of a cancelled check (front and back) or money order that has been traced for payment, or a handwritten receipt from an Immigration Services Officer.

Naturalization Ceremonies

The Tampa Field Office has Judicial Ceremonies on a monthly basis and Administrative Ceremonies on a weekly basis.  The Tampa Field Office does have same-day ceremonies occasionally.

Prohibited Items

Rules and regulations governing public buildings and grounds can be found at Title 41, Code of Federal Regulations, Subpart 101-20.3 and Title 18, United States Code, Section 930.  Additionally, this office prohibits:

  • Scissors, Razors, and Other Sharp Objects
  • Flammable Liquids
  • Cameras
  • Recording Devices
  • Food or Beverages
  • Smoking
