Accordingly, part 214 of chapter I of title 8 of the Code of Federal Regulations is amended as follows:

PART 214--NONIMMIGRANT CLASSES

1. The authority citation for part 214 continues to read as follows:

    Authority: 8 U.S.C. 1101, 1102, 1103, 1182, 1184, 1186a, 1187, 1221, 1281, 1282, 1301-1305 and 1372; § 643, Pub. 2. Section 214.6 is amended by:

a.     Revising the section heading;

b.     Redesignating footnotes 5 and 6 as footnotes 6 and 7, respectively;

c.     Adding a new footnote 5 at the end of the occupation “Mathematician” in paragraph (c), Appendix 1603.D.1;

d.     Adding footnote 8 at the end of the occupation “Biologist” in paragraph (c), Appendix 1603.D.1; and

e.     Adding the text of new footnotes 5 and 8.

    The revision and additions read as follows:

    5/ The term “Mathematician” includes the profession of Actuary. An Actuary must satisfy the necessary requirements to be recognized as an actuary by a professional actuarial association or society. A professional actuarial association or society means a professional actuarial association or society operating in the territory of at least one of the Parties.

    8/ The term “Biologist” includes the profession of Plant Pathologist.
