When a Form I-94 is issued as evidence of registration to any alien whose claimed entry prior to July 1, 1924,cannot be verified, he having satisfactorily established residence in the United States since a date prior to July 1, 1924, the words "Claimed entry prior to July 1, 1924, not verified" shall be inserted in the lower right-hand box of Form I-94. The duplicate Form I-94 shall be placed in the relating A file.
An alien not previously registered who is granted voluntary departure without the institution of proceedings shall be furnished with a Form I-94, endorsed with the legend as provided in
OI 242.10
(f) and the copy furnished the Central Office shall be endorsed "ALIEN REGISTRATION." A similarly endorsed set of Form I-94 shall be prepared for an alien not previously registered against whom an order to show cause has been issued. One copy shall be forwarded to the Central Office. The other copy of the Form I-94 shall be retained in the alien's file for submission to the transportation company as a departure manifest in the event he is deported.
