Q : I received a Social Security Administration (SSA) mismatch, what should I do?

  • You are not required to take any further action after receiving a mismatch from Self Check but resolving an SSA mismatch now gives you the peace of mind that your employment eligibility records are in order.
  • If you wish to resolve an SSA mismatch, you would need to visit an SSA office with the “Notice of Mismatch” generated by Self Check. It provides a set of detailed steps on how to follow up on your potential mismatch.
  • You should not contact the Social Security Administration about Self Check unless you have received an SSA mismatch.
