The Genealogy Program is proud to launch its new Website! The following features are included:

Reformatting for clarity and simplicity

Even the same information has been made easier to understand. We have reorganized the content on the site to make it customer friendly, and easily understood to better equip you with the information you seek from the USCIS Genealogy Program. Each page includes a series of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) directly related to the subject matter (i.e. Searching The Index FAQs, Record Request FAQs, etc.). Links to the FAQs are also shown in the right-side column of each page.

Need Help

The USCIS Genealogy site now provides several new resources. These resources include a page entitled  Avoid Common Errors  to help our requesters avoid mistakes that could cost them extra time and money. There is also a new guide entitled Does My Request Qualify which was created to ensure that our requesters are able to easily identify which Genealogy Program service would be the most beneficial to them. Our goal is  to ensure that you receive the best and most efficient service from us.

Our site also features a Research Guide which provides information pertaining to Arrival and Nationality records organized by date, and provides valuable information about Historical USCIS topics and events.  

We have also added new general Genealogy FAQs , Request Status FAQs and clearly identified Contact Information for persons to track their requests.

Image Galleries - Worth A Thousand Words

We are also excited to debut our image galleries, which provide an up-close and personal view of the most common files types  available from the USCIS Genealogy Program. Each image provides a description and pinpoints the location of the file number pertaining to each record.
