Immigration Services Officer Jennifer
Job Title: Immigration Services Officer
Location: California Service Center
An Immigration Services Officer at the California Service Center adjudicates various petitions and applications. These include forms related to employment-based and family-based programs. Some officers also take the lead in various areas like specialized petitions or fraud cases.
How do you balance work and personal life?
USCIS offers a few fantastic programs. For example, with a maxiflex schedule, I am able to work longer days so I don’t have to take time off in order to volunteer at school to help teachers help our kids.
What brought you to USCIS?
The tragic events of 9/11 deeply moved me and gave me a strong feeling of commitment to do what I could to help secure the safety of the United States. In previous jobs, I was not motivated by a sense of purpose at work. When I saw the job announcement for Immigration Services Officer in 2008, I applied for the position and was greatly excited to be selected.
