Kathryn S. Rexrode, Associate Director External Affairs Directorate
Experience and Achievements
Kathryn S. Rexrode is the associate director of the External Affairs Directorate. She brings more than 18 years of federal legislative branch experience.
Before joining USCIS, Rexrode served as the communications director for the House Judiciary Committee for nearly six years. In that role, she oversaw media relations at the committee that has jurisdiction over the U.S. Departments of Justice and Homeland Security.
Rexrode has also served as communications director and legislative assistant to Rep. Bob Goodlatte. In addition to handling media relations for the congressman, her legislative portfolio included defense, health care, and veterans’ affairs policy. Rexrode served as a member of Rep. Goodlatte’s staff for nearly 13 years.
Rexrode has a bachelor’s degree in political science from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
