Tracy Renaud is the Acting Director, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services as of Jan. 20, 2021.
Tracy Renaud previously served as the associate director of Service Center Operations Directorate.
Tracy Renaud served as the associate director of the Management Directorate since Nov. 2, 2014, and as the acting deputy director of USCIS between January and October 2017; and between March 2018 and May 2019.
Before her appointment, Renaud served as the deputy associate director of the Management Directorate. In this role, she had responsibility for the operations of USCIS’ Office of Administration, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Office of Contracting, Office of Human Capital and Training, Office of Information Technology, Office of Intake and Document Production, Office of Security and Integrity, and Office of Performance and Quality.
Immediately prior to her tenure in the Management Directorate, Renaud served as the USCIS northeast regional director in Vermont for five years during which time she was responsible for the district and field offices in the northeastern quadrant of the United States. Renaud began her distinguished career with the Immigration and Naturalization Service in 1982 at the Vermont Service Center. There she held a number of positions before transferring to Headquarters in 1999.
During her previous tour at Headquarters, Renaud served in a variety of positions, including chief of Field Operations, where she was responsible for the management and oversight of all district and field offices charged with adjudicating requests for immigration benefits; deputy associate director, Refugee Asylum and International Operations, during which time she was responsible for the USCIS offices overseas as well as the refugee and asylum programs; and in the Services Modernization Program (now known as the Office of Transformation Coordination), during which time she was responsible for implementation of the agency’s first electronic filing effort. She also served as a senior adjudications officer within Service Center Operations during which time she was notably responsible for the implementation of the agency’s premium processing program.
