Processing Delays for Re-Registration of El Salvadorans for TPS and Form I-130
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is currently experiencing a three-to five-day delay with the intake and receipting of applications associated with re-registration of El Salvadorans for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Forms I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, filed at the Chicago Lockbox facility.
As of August 18, 2010, we are currently receipting applications and petitions received at the Chicago Lockbox on August 5, 2010.
We will update this alert regularly to reflect our progress until we return to the standard two business day processing time. In the meantime, we encourage customers to attach Form G-1145 to their applications and/or petitions that they are filing with the Chicago Lockbox. Form G-1145 allows USCIS to notify our customers, via e-mails or text messages, when we have accepted their specific filing. Additional information on E-Notification of Application / Petition Acceptance is available on www.uscis.gov.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we endeavor to address this issue. If you have questions, concerns or input that you would like to share with us, please contact the Office of Public Engagement at Public.Engagement@dhs.gov.
