WASHINGTON – The General Services Administration (GSA) today announced a new lease agreement for occupancy by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Under the new lease agreement, USCIS will consolidate its headquarters from five leased locations and one federal asset to one facility. The new headquarters will occupy 574,767 rentable square feet (RSF) at One Town Center located at One Capital Gateway Drive, Camp Springs, Md., 20746 for a term of 15 years.

The new leased headquarters will save the agency $21.4 million in annual leased savings in the first year and reduce its footprint by 128,000 RSF. The new lease agreement is consistent with GSA’s mission to reduce the federal government’s footprint and deliver the best value to taxpayers while meeting federal agencies’ needs.

“The consolidation of USCIS’ headquarters operation at One Town Center from multiple leased locations will reduce expenses, save public funds, and provide the hardworking USCIS staff with a world class workplace,” said GSA’s National Capital Region Regional Commissioner Mary Gibert.

"Today’s lease signing represents the culmination of years of work by GSA and DHS. Throughout the process, we carefully considered the agency’s financial and operational needs, as well as the current and future needs of our employees," said Acting USCIS Director James W. McCament. "This world-class facility will centralize our headquarters operations for the first time in our history, allowing us to collaborate with greater effectiveness to accomplish our vital mission."
