P-2 and P-3 Visa

The P-2 classification applies to you if you are coming temporarily to perform as an artist or entertainer. The P-3 classification applies to you if you are coming temporarily to perform, teach or coach as artists or entertainers.
Eligibility
P-2 Visa
You may be eligible to be classified as a P-2 nonimmigrant if you are coming to the United States temporarily to perform as an artist or entertainer, individually or as part of a group, who will perform under a reciprocal exchange program between an organization in the United States and an organization in another country.
The initial period of stay includes the time needed to complete the event, competition or performance, not to exceed one year. You may be eligible to extend your stay in increments of up to one year to continue or complete the event, competition or performance.
The P-2S classification is for highly skilled essential support personnel who are an integral part of the successful performance of a P-2 entertainment group.
P-3 Visa
You may be eligible to be classified as a P-3 nonimmigrant if you are coming to the United States temporarily to perform, teach or coach as an artist or entertainer, individually or as part of a group, under a program that is culturally unique.
The initial period of stay includes the time needed to complete the event, competition or performance, not to exceed one year. You may be eligible to extend your stay in increments of up to one year to continue or complete the event, activity or performance.
The P-3S classification is for highly skilled essential support personnel who are an integral part of the successful performance of a P-3 entertainment group.
How to File
Your employer, agent or sponsor must:
- Read the instructions for Form I-129, Petition for Non-Immigrant Worker;
- Complete and sign Form I-129;
- Pay filing fee(s) if applicable; and
- Provide all required evidence and supporting documentation.

After You File
Once we receive your form, your employer, agent or sponsor will receive a:
- Receipt notice confirming we received your petition;
- Biometric services notice, if applicable;
- Notice to appear for an interview, if required; and
- Notice of our decision.
