Visit the United States

Generally, if you want to visit (and not live) the United States, you must have a visitor visa. However, you may be exempt from this requirement. See the U.S. Department of State website for more information before filing a visa application
Eligibility
You may be eligible for a foreign visitor (nonimmigrant) visa if you want to enter the United States temporarily for business (visa category B-1); tourism, pleasure or visiting (visa category B-2); or a combination of both purposes (B-1/B-2).
If you want to travel to the United States for reasons other than business or pleasure, you must apply for a visa in the appropriate category. This includes if you want to study or work, temporarily or permanently.
