I-602, Application by Refugee for Waiver of Inadmissibility Grounds

Use this form if you are a refugee who has been found inadmissible to the United States for reasons such as felony conviction or health conditions and you want to apply for a waiver of inadmissibility for humanitarian reasons, family unity, or national interest.

  • A waiver is available
Contact the Resettlement Support Center that helped you prepare your Form I-590 for instructions on how to file Form I-602.
You are filing your Form I-602 at the same time your petitioner files Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition Send your Form I-602 to the same USCIS office that processes your petitioner’s Form I-730. See the Where to File section on our Form I-730 page for more information.

You reside outside the United States and a petitioner already filed Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition, on your behalf 

Send your Form I-602 to the USCIS international field office with jurisdiction over your residence. 
You are in the United States and a petitioner has already filed Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition, on your behalf Send your Form I-602 to the USCIS office that is currently adjudicating your petitioner’s Form I-730. 
You are filing Form I-602 together with your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust StatusMail both forms according to the instructions on our Direct Filing Addresses for Form I-485 page.  
You are filing Form I-602 after you have filed your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust StatusSend your Form I-602 to the USCIS office that is currently adjudicating your Form I-485.
