Mission
Transformation is an agency-wide effort to move the processing of immigration benefits from paper-based to an electronic environment, accessible to both USCIS employees and customers.
What We Do
Lead, manage and facilitate a comprehensive transformation of people, processes, and technologies that will enhance national security, promote operational excellence, and provide superior customer service to those seeking immigration benefits.
How We Are Organized
Transformation is organized to approach the following four activities:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection provides information about the January 27, 2017 executive order, "Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States," on its website.
On Jan. 17, 2017, a new rule, “Retention of EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 Immigrant Workers and Program Improvements Affecting High-Skilled Nonimmigrant Workers” amending DHS regulations went into effect. The regulatory amendments provide for the automatic extension of the validity periods of certain Employment Authorization Documents (Form I-766) for up to 180 days if the employee:
Beginning Jan. 22, 2017, employers must use the 11/14/2016 N version of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, to verify the identity and work eligibility of every new employee hired, or for the reverification of expiring employment authorization of current employees (if applicable). This date is found on the lower left hand corner of the form.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invited you to participate in a stakeholder session on Wednesday, January 11, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. (Eastern) with USCIS Director León Rodríguez in Washington, D.C.

New edition dated 01/18/17. Starting 03/20/17, USCIS will only accept the 01/18/17 edition. Until then, you can use previous editions dated 07/29/14, 5/04/12, 02/01/11, and 03/30/09.
On May 3, 2010, the Verification Division and the Office of Public Engagement hosted a listening session to gather feedback and input from stakeholders on E-Verify and Form I-9 programs.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invited you to participate in a stakeholder teleconference on Tuesday, April 26, from 3 to 4 p.m. (Eastern) to discuss employee rights during the processes for Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification and E-Verify with a focus on individuals with Temporary Protected Status and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
