Expanded Customer Service and Revised Safe Address Procedures for Individuals Protected Under Confidentiality Provisions
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services invites you to participate in a national stakeholder engagement on expanded customer service options and revised safe address procedures for individuals protected under 8 U.S.C. 1367 confidentiality provisions on Tuesday, July 16, from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern.
USCIS has issued two revised policies for benefit requestors protected under 8 U.S.C. 1367 (that is, those with pending or approved T or U visa filings or filings submitted under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and their beneficiaries or derivatives), including: the Safe Address and Special Procedures for Persons Protected by 8 U.S.C. 1367 (PDF, 346.89 KB) policy, and the Customer Service for Persons Protected by 8 U.S.C. 1367 (PDF, 332.75 KB) policy.
Both policies took effect March 29, 2024. These policies reduce barriers to USCIS benefits and services for protected individuals and support the autonomy and safety of filers who seek or have approved victim-based benefits.
During the engagement, USCIS subject matter experts will provide an overview of these two policy updates, share important information and tips, and answer questions.
