Temporary Protected Status Extension and Redesignation for Haiti
Tuesday, March 21, 2023, | 2-3 p.m. Eastern
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) invites you to participate in an engagement on the extension and redesignation of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern.
On Dec. 5, 2022, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas announced the extension and redesignation of TPS for Haiti for 18 months. The extension of TPS for Haiti allows current beneficiaries to retain TPS through Aug. 3, 2024, if they meet eligibility requirements. The redesignation allows Haitian nationals, and individuals having no nationality who last habitually resided in Haiti, who have continuously resided in the United States since Nov. 6, 2022 and have been continuously physically present in the United States since Feb. 4, 2023, to file initial applications for TPS, if they are otherwise eligible. Existing beneficiaries of TPS for Haiti seeking to avoid gaps in their employment authorization documentation may re-register during the 60-day period ending on March 27, 2023.
During this engagement, USCIS will provide an overview of the extension and redesignation of TPS for Haiti. We will then hold a question-and-answer session. We will not address case-specific questions, questions outside the scope of the engagement, or issues under active litigation.
