U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is revising the current naturalization test with improvements to ensure it continues to serve as an accurate measure of a naturalization applicant’s civics knowledge and that it reflects best practices in adult education assessments.
The Verification Division is streamlining our public contact channels. E-Verify Listens will be discontinued on July 17. We are encouraging interested parties to connect with us through our E-Verify website, on Twitter (@EVerify), and on Facebook. In addition, they can subscribe to GovDelivery to receive the latest E-Verify email updates, and text “EVERIFY UPDATES” to 468311 to get the latest E-Verify news.
Some nonimmigrants are employment authorized incident to status in the U.S., which means they are eligible to work based on their nonimmigrant status or are eligible to apply for employment authorization. However, other nonimmigrants, such as temporary visitors for pleasure, are not eligible to work in the U.S.
USCIS announced it will automatically extend parole, and employment authorization if applicable, for certain residents of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).

This week, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will celebrate the Declaration of Independence and the birth of our country by welcoming almost 7,500 new citizens in nearly 110 naturalization ceremonies between July 1 and July 5. Our naturalization ceremonies will be held in venues across the country, and include several notable ceremonies.
