Alert: We recently updated the filing location for Special Immigrant Juveniles filing Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant, or Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

We recently updated the filing location for Special Immigrant Juveniles filing Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant, or Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status.

Petitioners previously filed both forms at the Chicago lockbox. Petitioners will now file at the lockbox associated with where they live.

If you live outside the U.S., you cannot file Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, either concurrently or after we approve your Form I-360. Instead, you may apply for an immigrant visa at a U.S. Consulate if we approve your Form I-360.

Petitions that are not mailed to the appropriate filing location may experience processing delays.

Amerasian
If you: Is concurrent Form I-485 filing allowed? Then file your Form I-360 at the:

Were born after 1950 and before Oct. 22, 1982, and are self-petitioning or petitioning on behalf of an Amerasian

Widow(er) of a U.S. Citizen

  • You were married to a U.S. citizen at the time of the U.S. citizen’s death;
  • Your spouse’s death was less than two years  from the date of filing Form I-360;
  • You were not legally separated from your U.S. citizen spouse at the time of their death; and
  • You have not remarried
