On Nov. 9, 2022, USCIS announced that certain affirmative asylum applicants may now file Form I-589 online. You may file for affirmative asylum if you are physically in the United States.  To file an online Form I-589, eligible applicants must first visit my.uscis.gov to create a USCIS online account, if they don’t already have one.
