This form is used to apply for adjustment to permanent resident status under the amnesty program provisions of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).

Filing Tips for Form I-698, Application to Adjust Status from Temporary to Permanent Resident (Under Section 245A of the INA)
Complete all sections of the form. The form will be rejected if these fields are missing:
- Part 1 – Information About You
- Family Name
- U.S. Mailing Address
- Date of Birth
- Place of Birth
Sign the form in Part 5, Item Number 6., Applicant’s Signature. The fillable version of Form I-698 now includes a “Don’t forget to sign!” message and an arrow pointing to the signature box as a reminder for when you print the completed form for mailing. If there is no signature in Part 5, USCIS will reject the form and return it for correction and re-filing.
$1,670, effective 12 a.m. Eastern U.S. time, December 23, 2016. (An $85 per applicant fee for biometrics may be required - unless under 14 years of age or older than 79 years of age.)
